Approved Driving School is hiring part-time In-Car Driving and Classroom Instructors to work in our Gwinnett location during these times:
Monday to Thursday: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
(Hours may vary)
Must be available to teach in class and behind-the-wheel training. Instructors may be asked to work up to two, two-hour lessons during a five hour period on weekdays, and three, two-hour lessons during an eight hour period on weekends. While we are recruiting for the standard school year periods above; these times may vary during the summer and school holiday breaks, where there are more lessons given throughout the day during those times.
Must be available to work at least 6 to 18 hours per week.
Must be available to work two to five days a week, or both weekend days, or a combination of both weekdays and weekends.
Our students are available after school, holidays, and on weekends. The school is open seven days a week with schedules from the timetable above.
Must be able to have a flexible schedule.
Preference is given to applicants with a current GA DDS Instructor Certification, though not required.
If not certified, completion of the GA DDS Driver Training Instructor certification process, concluding with a half-day meeting and final examination, both in Conyers will be needed. This process normally takes about a month or longer to complete.
Applicants are preferred to have great social skills and must be friendly and engaging as a teacher/instructor while providing lessons, have unlimited patience, be calm and supportive, and want to make a difference in our students' lives. Must communicate fluently, clearly in standard English and have effective organization skills, including familiarity with using GPS devices, general computer skills, trip planning, and way-finding under both planned and unplanned conditions. We train and provide driving lessons only in English. We strive to be the best at teaching students to be skilled and safe drivers. This is a combination of behind-the-wheel and classroom instructions. We accept students of all ages and levels of previous driving experience.
As part of the on-the-job training process, we ask that our driving and classroom instructors complete our 30-hour driver education online course at no cost. Training begins after the candidate completes the State's application or holds their current certification. Compensation begins when an instructor begins working independently. Candidates must be readily trainable and willing to teach students the rules of the road and to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The Georgia Department of Drivers Services requires the following to be a Certified Driver Instructor:
